Samsung’s latest user interface, One UI 6.0, based on Android 14, is finally available in its stable version. The new generation UI for Samsung phones can now be downloaded, with users of the Galaxy S23 series getting the first taste.
Initially, One UI 6.0 was released as a beta version for Samsung S23, with limited availability in several countries, including the United States and Germany. Now, Samsung S23 users who participated in the One UI 6.0 beta program can enjoy the stable version.
The availability of One UI 6.0 stable version also includes all models of the Galaxy S23 series, including the regular Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. Updating to One UI 6.0 is similar to over-the-air (OTA) system updates, accessible through the Settings menu > Software Updates > Download and Install.
One of the first countries to receive the stable version of One UI 6.0 was Germany. In this region, the stable version of One UI 6.0 arrived with firmware S916BXXU3BWJM and a size of 350 MB. Other countries that received the One UI 6.0 beta are likely to receive the stable version soon.
In the future, Samsung is expected to release the stable version of One UI 6.0 to all Galaxy S23 users, even those who didn’t participate in the beta program. As of today, Monday (10/31/2023), the stable version of One UI 6.0 is not yet available for Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra devices in Indonesia.
The latest update on our phones is One UI 5.1. There are no signs indicating when the One UI 6.0 update will be available for Samsung S23 Ultra users in Indonesia. However, software updates are typically rolled out gradually by the company in each region.
For your information, One UI 6 was previously released in beta versions for users of the Galaxy S23 series, including the regular Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra in several countries.
Some countries that already received the One UI 6.0 beta include the United States, South Korea, Germany, China, India, Poland, and the United Kingdom, as reported by KompasTekno from Android Central. Due to their participation in the beta program, some users of the Galaxy S23 series in those countries will also receive the stable version of One UI 6 earlier than other regions.
One UI 6 Features
Before being released in its stable version, One UI 6 was initially launched in beta in August. This user interface is based on the Android 14 operating system.
In the beta version, One UI 6 came with several improvements, with a significant focus on the control panel. In One UI 6, there are two large buttons when users access the control panel.
The first button is for controlling the phone’s Wi-Fi, while the second large button is dedicated to Bluetooth. These buttons are designed separately from the various other buttons commonly found in the control panel.
Nevertheless, various buttons are still available in the control panel, including audio settings, rotation, airplane mode, connectivity, location, and other functions.
In addition to the two separate buttons, One UI 6 also provides a brightness control button that appears separately from other panel buttons. Here, users can swipe the button to adjust screen brightness or activate the dark mode for more comfortable viewing.
In the control panel, there is also a button for managing smart devices connected to the user’s home, such as smart speakers and other devices. According to Samsung, the redesigned control panel layout will make it easier for users to access the most frequently used features.
In addition to the control panel area, Samsung has also made improvements to the lock screen’s personalization aspect. With One UI 6, users can customize their lock screen with different looks, in line with the “Modes and Routines” feature on their Samsung phones.
Samsung has also introduced a new camera widget that allows users to choose the camera mode and storage folder before taking a photo. There are also new emojis and a different default text font compared to the previous version.
